Practicing since 1998, I received training in massage therapy at Applied Kinesiology Studies in Herdon, Virginia and the Institute for Integrated Therapies, in Washington D.C., where I completed all levels of study in Reflexology. In May 2010, I completed training in Structural Integration (Rolf Method) from the Insti-tute of Structural Integration in Miami, Florida. My continuing education spans into Fibromyalgia, Whiplash and Forearm Pain and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Special modality work includes Deep Tissue, NMT – Pain Mechanisms of the Low Back and Connective Tissue Massage. I have studied Lymph Drainage Therapy, which assists the body in deep cleansing, absorption of tox-ins, fluid circulation and improves efficiency of the immune system. After completing all levels of LDT, became a Lymphedema Therapist in 2006 under the Bruno Chikly method from the Upledger Institute.

Lymphatic Drainage |
Lymphatic Drainage is a light hands on technique designed to sustain proper function-ing of the human fluid system. It activates the lymphatic system and assists in circulation of body fluids. It promotes a state of relaxation and balance with the autonomic nervous system. It is ideal for post surgery welling.
Benefits include:
|
Lymphedema Therapy |
Lymphedema Therapy is the same light circular massage used in Lymphatic Drainage. This therapy addresses the swelling that may occur when damage or removal of lymph nodes in the body takes place. Due to genetics, surgery and /or radiation treatment, the system may become compromised. After a mastectomy, for instance, lymph nodes may be removed and swelling may occur. This type of swelling is referred to as Lymphedema. The swelling can be managed by directing the lymph fluid away from damaged or blocked lymph nodes to healthy pathways. |
Structural Integration — Rolf Method |
Structural Integration is a body therapy, which focuses on the fascia, also called the connective tissue. The fascia surrounds the muscles, bones and organs in the body and gives the muscles of the body their shape. Structural Integration aligns and balances the body, allowing the muscles to move more effectively. When the fascia is released, the body can return to the proper position.
Physical injuries can put the body out of alignment and create imbalance. Properly aligning the body with the pull of gravity by releasing fascia tension can help balance the body, make it more flexible and Improve posture. Structural Integration is performed in 10 sessions, approximately 75 minutes in length. Each session focuses in on a particular area of the body and builds upon the previous session. During the session undergarments are worn. |
